The Caledonian

I stayed at the Caledonian Hotel from May 16th to May 19th. The hotel is very nice, with a fabulous view across the loch. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff, particularly in the dining room, are excellent; efficient, polite, courteous and attentive. It was the best service that my wife and I have had in any hotel dining room.  There’s entertainment every evening in the comfortable, attractive bar area. No complaints; this hotel offers excellent value for money.

Caledonian Hotel

I was with a group of walkers and I liked the room, food, and the reception and dining room staff were excellent, not fussy on the entertainment, but that was my choice whether to stay to listen or not, I would recommend this hotel.

Caledonian Hotel

Just returned and must say we were very impressed with room No 422 facing Loch. We were A/I for weekend which was fantastic value. All meals were excellent with first class service from our waiter Zoltan. Good entertainment on Fri. & Sat night with bingo on Sun. night which my wife won £55. No restrictions at bar from 7-30 till 10-30. 5 star treatment in a 2 star Hotel. Would highly recommend & will return again.

First time travelling with shearing’s, overnight stay in Carlisle, hilltop hotel was dire, but travelling north to the Caledonian hotel, this was brilliant, staff and management were very friendly and helpful, meal were very good. Willie and Mel our coach drivers were excellent ,anyone staying at this hotel will have a wonderful stay. The return hotel in Darlington, the Aston hotel was superb.
